![]() | I can now officially announce that Japanese wunderkids Plus-tech Squeeze Box contributed a track to the O.S.T. for the upcoming SpongeBob SquarePants movie. Hayashibe, meet Hollywood. Uh oh, Pitchfork just slammed the album in their review... but hey, no specific mention of any Plus-tech wrongdoing! |

You see, this is what happens in cultures where the reviewers, all puffed up with bourgeois individualism and strident assertiveness, pass judgement on the records! What good is it to me that someone who doesn't like children's records thinks that this album is 'irredeemably annoying'? It's absolutism, pure and simple.

anyways. got the squarepants soundtrack tooday.
the PSB song is like the sneaker song. or day on the radio. i forget. but completly redone, and instrumental. well, ok, it sounds completely different. but, you know the song. so somewhere the theme or melody of the prementioned song[s] sneaks out. and instead of of being by psb, its by "the jellyfish band". "written by plus-tech squeeze box". do none japanese people find japanese band names so distastfull, that they feel they can not be used? [jellyfish vs. psb, electric tomato vs. macdond duck eclair.]
i would love to hear how that all came about. [the psb on the OST] cause other wise it has a fairly major indie american line up.. flaming lips, ween, motorhead..
