Great picture! One thing I like about Japanese christians, they dont tend to be wishy washy about their beliefs, they stand behind em as a rule.

An upper-middle class suburban area I often walk through has some really ornate, over-the-top Christmas light displays. On certain streets the number of houses with Xmas decorations has increased every year, suggesting there is either some inter-house rivalry or that some people are starting to worry they will be left out by not decorating the house. The displays seem to be set up with extreme precision. No display resembles another. I wonder whether house decorations are planned at the suburban equivalent of the cho-nai-kai that are so important in urban Japan.

I was fucking devastated recently to find out that Tori Sato of Maher Shalal Hash Baz is a Jehovah's Witness.

Anyway, the nice thing about stereotypes (as opposed to the 'empiricism' of this photograph) is that they tend to incarnate broad and solid truths. According to the CIA World Factbook, only 0.7% of the Japanese are Christian. Happy hunting!

So was Damo Suzuki for a long time after he left Can. Don't think he is now. He's active with the Acid Temple Mothers in all night noise shows in Osaka lately.

Didn't you read that old interview with Tori that someone linked to your page? It was filled with apocalyptic stuff.

Xmas in Japan would be more appropriately called Yule.

Maybe JW is one end point of psychedelic substance over-indulgence?

I was using the word "stereotype" as "sarcasm."
