Bape NYC

bapestore.jpgThis is a picture of the recently-opened A Bathing Ape shop in New York City's SoHo area. Hiphop on the speakers, a friendly multicultural staff, and $170 sweatshirts. I expected that Ape would charge relatively lower prices in the United States, like Supreme does, but instead, Nigo has priced everything to be "boutique" streetwear. Who is going to buy the $775 camo jacket? Even if they had opened the store during my period of Bape fandom, I probably still wouldn't have bought anything.

and CDs are over $20 in Japan, and I'm still buying that shit.

When I was on the east coast I noticed a write up on Bape NYC at my Grandma's house of all places in a copy of New York magazine. Another display of the gross national cool attitute about Japan which Marxy has dismissed in the past. (tho maybe it led him to Japan in the first place?)

Thats exactly it though Nigo does not want the whole herd rocking his stuff, if you think it is too expensive you are missing the point, check the detail and the whole package, this shit ain' for everyone, its all limited 'BapE'

Exactly dude, you must have a 'A Bathing Ape' to notice that kind of stuff, although $775 for a camo coat could be a bit much, but it' like ya suppose to be spending that every month.
