![]() | The new issue of Japan's premier indie music magazine Beikoku Ongaku is finally out on stands, and the compilation CD included with the issue features the Marxy track "Neoplasticism vs. de Stijl," along with songs from Plus-Tech Squeeze Box, Quantic, From Bubblegum to Sky, New Buffalo, and many others. Traditionally, Darla distributes the magazine outside of Japan, so hopefully it will be available to the West shortly. 日本の方へ:最新の「米国音楽」の23号が発売中です!MARXYの曲が付属CDに入っているので、是非チェックして下さい。 |
What is your conclusion on Japan's fate, based on this information? Doom postponed by a year or two?

Posted by: antonin at June 5, 2005 9:50 PMI love how as soon as you start using Japanese you slip into crazy Japanese ad speak - "The new BeikokuOngaku, number 23 is on sale!" - exclamations and all. It's interesting how languages can alter personal nuances.
Posted by: M at June 6, 2005 11:33 AMHa ha. Maybe so. Although I don't have to explain what Beikoku is in Japanese nor talk about Darla.
Posted by: marxy at June 6, 2005 12:34 PMWell, I think it shows how compatible critique of marketing is with marketing, the same way communism is often surprisingly compatible with capitalism (see Shanghai).

Posted by: phaedron at June 6, 2005 9:06 PMWe obviously have different definitions of "troll".
