By the way, here is the awesome tagline for Meatballs 4:

"There's only one thing wilder, crazier and sexier then last summer - this summer."

Well, I guess I should watch Meatballs 2 then, huh?

Is it possible to watch only Meatballs 4 and still follow the plot? I was just wondering how tight the continuity is in the Meatballs saga.

Re: Meatballs

Meatballs - slightly heartwarming tale about summer camp starring Bill Murray.

Meatballs 2 - bad exploitative teenage sex comedy about summer camp.

Meatballs 3 - a film about a young man who has to lose his virginity by the end of the summer and the ghost of a porn star who helps him with his task. NO SUMMER CAMP INVOLVED.

Meatballs 4 - Corey Feldman and water skiing.

Why rent American crud from Tsutaya when you could be renting Shuji Terayama?

Posted by: Momus at June 30, 2005 11:22 PM

Who says I'm renting these? To be an American is a childhood of watching hours of B-grade movies on Sunday afternoon cable television.

Why rent American crud from Tsutaya when you could be renting Shuji Terayama?

Or maybe Eric Mitchell and Richard Kern movies (just to mention good American directors). Available at your local Tsutaya.

Posted by: dzima at June 30, 2005 11:35 PM

Without the crud, how would you know what's good?

Plus it's definitely easier to find these at Tsutaya...

Posted by: Brad at June 30, 2005 11:37 PM

It's easier to find good/o-share movies at Tsutaya than bad 80s ones. Goodbye, Lenin is absolutely easier to find than Lucas.

Posted by: marxy at June 30, 2005 11:44 PM

I don't know...I bet I could find Mask in a heartbeat.

Howdyfolxx,

Conversely, what about sequals that are better than the original?

Exemplified, of course, by the unbeatable Weekend at Burnies II.

(best plot ever.)

license to drive is a sequel? i ♥ that movie.

Posted by: nick at July 3, 2005 5:12 PM

That was my little joke.

Posted by: marxy at July 3, 2005 5:16 PM

No Meatballs were available in Tsutaya. I checked.

Posted by: jariten at July 4, 2005 4:25 PM

I've rented Meatballs from Tsutaya in Shibuya, but it was hard to find. I think it's called ミートボール or something.
