Fight Club
![]() | If the 1999 film Fight Club was "based on a true story," why have I never heard about all those buildings blowing up? |

The first rule of fight club: you do not talk about fight club.
...I guess that extends to buildings blowing up, too.

"Based on" != "historically factual"
Perhaps "inspired by a schizo masochist" would be more accurate? ;)

well i guess that's part of the whole palahniuk joke about plausibility and sensationalism. fight club is of course an adaptation of the book of the same name, which is in no way an adaptation of a true story - the man's got a machiavelic twisted imagination. i advise the reading of "choke", by the way, which is nothing short of a great novel, and far superior to "fight club".
