By the way, if you believe Bishop Spong's Rescuing the Bible from Fundamentalism: A Bishop Rethinks the Meaning of Scripture, Judas is just a literary device created by the early gospel writers to implicate the Jews in Christ's death, seeing that the cruxification is an obviously-Roman form of execution. The name Judas sound suspiciously similar to "Judah," and all the parts of the story (thirty pieces of silver, suicide, etc.) are references to the Old Testament in the midarashic tradition. In Luke, there are TWO disciples named Judas, maybe for precaution, since Jesus supposedly had a brother named Judas.

hmmm .... but there is an apostle called judah /or juda, i don't know english names of them/ ... so it's like a bad jew vs a good jew??? so jews have still chance to choose a proper one to follow hehe
