Fight, This Generation.

cover7.jpgMy new column for OK Fred entitled - Fight, This Generation (現代文化の舞台裏を解明しよう!) - debuts in their brand new issue Vol. 7 "Fashion Now!" For this first installment, I look at the influence of television as a promotional channel on the formation of consumers' musical preferences (in both Japanese and English.)

Regardless of my participation with the issue, I highly recommend picking up OK Fred on a constant basis. It just may be the only magazine these days that does not spend its pages pressuring you to buy something. They don't even pressure you to buy into something. What a delight.

(the new) ok fred is beautiful indeed, there hasn't been anything this fresh on the magrack since purple prose and first few issues of tokion.

as to Fight, This Generation. , gee, amidst all the positive feeling, bernhard wilhelm has a bit of a whinge about fashion magazines, a couple of tokyo designers aren't too happy with the fashion scene, ryuichi sakamoto thinks touring in japan is a pain in the arse then, whack, unexpectedly the manifesto. don't get me wrong i do understand it's a hard job and somebody's got to do it.
