The best thing about the Japanese media (information-industrial complex) is that no one asks why when asking why could lead to a great story opening Pandora's box.
Some recent examples:
Oshima sumo stable damaged in series of attacks: Who is attacking sumo stables? Nobody knows or seems to care to ask. Is sumo related to organized crime? "Sure, but... wait, you're not suggesting that organized crime may be behind this violence, are you?"
Man given 8-year prison term for throwing firebombs at Abe's home: Why was he throwing firebombs at Abe's house? When did the 28 year-old become a "former" member of his yakuza group? Do any of Abe's support groups have connections to organized crime? "Yes, but... wait, you're not suggesting that organized crime may be behind this violence, are you?"
A blast from the past:
Bullet fired at office of singer Go's producer: Who is shooting bullets into the window of musical production companies? Are Japanese management companies well-known to have links to organized crime? "Yes, but... wait, you're not suggesting that organized crime may be behind this violence, are you?"
