Weirdest Wikipedia Entry Ever

Ghostbusters 2.

Update: Whoa. That was fast. Somebody removed the insane vandalism almost immediately. Those lucky enough to have viewed the site in what turned out to be a very narrow window of time will no doubt agree that we were witness to something truly magical. Maybe the ephemeral delights of wikipedia vandalism are a wabisabi reminder of our place here on earth. We are like cherry blossom petals - so fragile, yet so beautiful.

IF I saw it?
I keep all of Ivan Reitman's films' info-pages open in my browser at all times! ...Two tabs for Twins.

Through the magic of the history tab, those of us avoiding the work we should be doing can check out the vandalized (incredibly ineptly edited?) version. It looks like it survived for less than an hour--it's on someone's watchlist.

Wikipedia retains every version of its entries posted. You can read the bizarro version here.

This link is more readable than Momus', which shows a comparison with the bizarro version rather than that version alone.

Egad! How putrid this archiving system born of foul mother! The leaves should fall and be swept away in nature's torrents! Our hands may yearn to preserve the most salmon of all sweet flowers but is our action not unlike the taxodermy of the soul?

Nowadays, the Tibetans make their sand sculptures, and the tourists take photos.

Don't worry, photos sold off in estate auctions and old Wikipedia history pages are almost equally washed away as cherry blossom petals on the seafloor of the Pacific.

And this is why I love and hate wikipedia.

Really this was the best of the worst, if you can vandalize one drop of the bucket of trivia in such a way that it maintains its triviality but is just simply insane, you are a better man than Jimbo Wales.

I think the most amazing bit is his vandalization of the Lenin entry.

Wait.. Lenin entry? It was you!
