at amazon

my album "happy together" is now available from amazon's download store.
it's a very good deal imo.. 256kbps, DRM free mp3s.. the whole thing is only 7.92$ USD. (the CD is only 9.99 at most places though, btw.. with. you know. full artwork, and not compressed at all!)

other then the required "amazon mp3 downloader". i actually quiet like their store. have gotten a couple things from it already that was not available any place else.

podcasts. not by me

people call these podcasts.. i dunno. a podcast should be more like radio no? instead of just a mix? anyways though. i am loving these 2 podcasts.
one by "bracken", and another by the "high places".

get the bracken one at the anitcon website
and the high places cast at the caff/flick website

release dates

this is more music related, then pandatone. but release dates. when do you shop for records? (assuming you GO to a shop).. when do records come out? well my anwser is.. i go to the store on weekends.. records come out on tuesdays.. um.. what?
so if i'm at the shop on sunday.. whats new isn't out yet! i got to thinking about this by getting my hands on the new caribou album on vinyl. it came with free mp3 downloads.. so i got home and tried to get my mp3s.. (i was going to work the next day, no turntable there) and.. file not found! hmm. i wrote support and they told me. the record wasnt out yet. thats why i couldnt download it. but there i was with the record. and i got to thinking. what new was out this week? would i have rather had that? and with internet leaking. (coming from artists and labels at this point no less).. whats the point? well, i know the point. its so when writers/critics get their promos. i guess that means they are special. they want to "get the scoop" or some shit. and before that, it probably had to do with lining up reviews that had to come out in print! with releases.. etc.

it seems to me to pointless at this point. so, i am moving all music related releases to friday release dates.. if it wasn't for distro's and mail orders. (they don't want other people to have stuff first).. i would just make CDs available when i get them. if people want to review them. great! its probably a download anyways that they are checking. do people review unsolicited stuff? i doubt it.. unless its a big artist.. etc. anyways. thats what i think, and am going to do about it.

the intertubes makes lemons

Lemonlime 22969026

i honestly have no idea where i stand with regards to free music. i do not support DRM, or the RIAA. but i do like making the CDs. maybe the music can be free. but somehow promotes toys or something. i think i would gladly take a corporate sponsor, as long as they don't fuck with my shit. i have lots of unwrapped CDs on my shelfs these days. cause i download the album. its normally available way before the release. but then buy the release (unless i didn't like it). or unless its some fancy packaging (ie. the last efterklang, or new slaraffenland) i probably won't bother opening it. i was going be coy and not mention the link. but, click on the link and download my debut LP "lemons & limes" from neo ouija. from the defunct neo ouija, that is now back, as something else. i know the story, and its still confusing to me.

lush rush

my friend midori hirano has just released her debut LP on noble records in japan. it's really good and i recommend checking it out if you can. it is also available from the dotshop in sweden. (they'll ship international) her album is a mid tempo affair with electronics, and classical instruments. (violin, cello, paino, etc), also some voice, and drums, etc. a mixed bag of modern and classic sounds arranged with modern flair. here is an audio sample from the noble site.

powershovel audio

as i move this blog, to just being a blog. i am going to write more about just stuff. probably around music things. verse just stuff about pandatone. so here i go.

when i was in tokyo. the guys at warszawa recommended to me a cd by "killer bong". this was my first run in with powershovel audio. witch i would later learn is Yuichiro Fujimoto's label. before i knew much. i picked up asuna's CD "room note" at some of us. (also in tokyo) and it was to late. i was a fan. i ordered some more misc CDs when i got back, and they were also good. so i finally had to contact them, to see if i could get some to sell in the mlshop. and they were so kind as to send me a copy of all of their release's! they are all outstanding. from the music, idea's, and even the packaging! i can't say enough good things. the most inspiring label for me right now. you should check them out if you can.
