if the date on the release isn't the year it is, it's old. but that doesn't matter.
Owusu & Hannibal have the cure.. and Low Motion Disco stay true to their name. with their debut EP delayed till.. nobody knows. they continue to keep and frustratingly low profile.. with minimal places to check out their music's.. their label doesn't even mention their release. (that was suppose to come out today)
grrr.. i look forward to it anyways. i get like that.

top 4 video games of 2007

yeap. i play video games. LOTs of video games. so, since i gave this to music related to post. i thought i would re-post it here. you should go there, to see other peoples lists. but to the chase!

pandatone's top video games for 2007!!

1. SKATE. (360)
[seriously, i have played so much of this game, it's great to just sit down and skate. and as an ex-skater. this is the best, very zen]

2. Picross (DS)
[best puzzler in ages]

3. DiRT (360)
[off road or nothing. the menu interface was awesome, looked awesome, and was tons and tons to play]

4. GRAW2 / COD4 tie's it up! (both 360)
[GRAW2 single player i found ton's more engaging and well scripted.. just felt intense] COD4s single player. well tight, no so much.. very very good though, you forget how much COD3 sucked it. . but the lack of cover and blind shooting will always hurnt a military shooter, but online is like crack!!!

find me on xboxlive as "pandarelated" feel free to shoot me in the face and say hi! COD4 clan ID [IamU], feel free to join it if you have no can.. as, i am you, you are me. or, message me for some chill skating!

04: frisk frugt "guldtrompeten"

people call these podcasts.. i dunno. a podcast should be more like radio no? instead of just a mix? anyways though. i am loving these 2 podcasts.
one by "bracken", and another by the "high places".

get the bracken one at the anitcon website
and the high places cast at the caff/flick website

i love music so much

i forget to make my own, and just listen to others. instead of doing my normal recommend. though i do recommend these. i shall link to mp3s from the labels sites. then you can do what you want about that. i feel better about it. and i highly recommend this music.

i posted the lucky dragons as an influence a couple back. well did you now they had a new long play lasy year? i didn't. only their 2nd long play.
check out this bitching track.. you can buy this find CD or LP from marriage records.

my other love was suggested to me by le fiasko. "Frisk Frugt". i'll run out and buy anything they (le fiasko) recommends to me. but! it was only available as a LP.. now, i love vinyl. don't get me wrong. but because i have so many CDs in my room from, well, CD collecting, AND music related. it had to go for space reasons. i was heartbroken. i could not hear this record. once again.. BUT! i wrote the label. (out of denmark).. and you can download it from othermusic's digital store. great! i had it within a couple minutes, and i love it. check out this fine piece of music. and this one too. as fair warning. some of the album does just evolve into noise. sometimes its old drum machine and lofi instruments and harmonised singing. there is no law in frisk frugt land.. love it.

there is not so much, anything *new* here. just good. and releases i think got over looked even by me. i'll admit i was openly critical of kahimi karie's latest album "nunki".. and i stand by it. it's over all a weak outing. mostly because its so close to being good. but they/she wussed out.. and pulled back the weird.. and we're left with what could have been, verse what is. dwayne sodahberk's CD "cut open", i can always listen to, and always think, "this sounds great!" and i end up singing along to most of it. talk about hooks. but was probably largely ignored because its basicly an guitar pop record, but and electronics guy. the music industry isn't set up to deal with such situations. and stina nodenstam's last album. it took forever for me to like this album. and it still is no "this is..". but its good. it never got widly released in the US. (i feel).. anyways. thats that.

Nunki-2 Cutoen Stina

kahimi karie "sono hoka ni" from "nunki"
dwayne sodahberk "open cuts" from "cut open"
stina nodenstam "the morning belongs to the night" from "the world is saved"

same idea, different object

i use to obsess over synths, pretty standard, moog this, roland that, korg and sequential circuit there. well time have changed. i still obsess, but now over a different kind of analog.. guitars, and instruments, and ways to record them.. hopefully analog front ended.
so, i'm really excited about my new guitar. i'd say its my first real guitar. yes, it's pretty tone riffic.

Midori Hirano is a friend of mine. i can't say close. because we live on the other sides of the planet. but, thats never stopped me before. her debut CD came out a couple months back on one of my favorite labels "noble records". its good and have been enjoying it recently.
i don't know anything at all about Gavouna. hell, i downloaded it (it, being the album "Strings & Drum Machines). so i don't have any liner notes to even look at. i've had it for awhile. but i forget how long. but recently it hit my play list and i have been really enjoyng it. check 'em out.

influence: Lucky Dragons

influence may mean different things to different people. for me, something that is influential is something that makes me want do to things, or changes the way i approach or look at things. mainly music. so from now on. i will occasionally do a post. where i will post an mp3 of an influential piece of work to me. we'll start off with a song by the lucky dragons debut CD on 555 records (555 records is now out out business). if you know my work. you'll hear it instantly.

"Heartbreaker" from the CD "Dark Falcon" 555CD51

i'm wondering

why my portable tape machine is so cool... yet so useless.
but beyond that. i've had this week off, and have spent to much time reading music blogs. i hate to complain. (though not enough, cause here i am) and obviously, people are going to take it the wrong way. what with me running a label n' all. but lets just try and pretend i don't. is it just me, or are music blogs just shillin' anymore? when was the last time you went to a music blog, or review site, and didn't already know everything that was on there? you may have not heard it. (probably for good reason). but you know of the people being reviewed, or in the "news" (though are tour date and album release announcements really news?)
anyways. just wondering. is it just me? i can't think of the last time i found good new music from a blog or website. normally i just listen to my friends, or people from dotshop or p*dis to find good stuff. or am i just to old, and don't get it?

the year.. more or less..

it's sorta to early for a look at the year.. but, i'm feeling it right now. (cause i should be packing for a early flight tomorrow)
nothing happened on the pandatone front more or less. ok, i lie. i played around tokyo in the spring, made lots of new friends, and had fun being the panda. yeah! otherwise, in real life it was about getting back up on my feet (i freelance for a living), and though not to noticeable yet, pumping lots of drugs into music related.
oh man! 2007 is going to be it! i tell you now.. or i'm going to die. those are the options. the '06 was filled with the much delays. and really only got aus's CD out. witch as i voiced before. did not get the respect this CD so should get. even OM was telling me, it's a total sleeper. great CD..
i'm constantly being told CDs are dead.. long live the mp3. but then no one will review or take notice of creation-centre. i think so far its been good. and the next year is looking tasty also! i mean, what do people want? seriously. i don't know. but, wait, on 2nd thought. your not going to get it. you want what i tell you. ;) tried to get ST's album out before the end of the year. but seemed to only confuse my distro's and folks i work with.
whoops. try this again next year on that.

shit is moving faster then i can think. but then nothing is happening at all. i'm finally breaking down. i'm feed up with dealing with labels. so i'm going to finally release my own CD on my own label. i told myself i wouldn't. but here it is. there are lots of thing i was, and wasn't going to do. those kind of things are bullshit, and don't even pretend.

so a pandatone CD this winter, called "happy together" on music related. yeah! more EPs to come too. expect them to be all over the place on style.
i don't give a'... does any one really?
we'll RE: ST's album, the sea CD, nobuko's grand entrance will take place. luminous orange will glow.. marxy will keep his attention for over 1:30 secs.. these are facts. i oh so look forward to '07..

the new music related site is done. its just being moved into it's new home, and will show up around the begining of the year!

ok, and here is a half assed CDs of the year.. i'm not even sure when some of these were released. but i listened to them the most.

Flilfa "frame"
Asuna "room note"
Camping "Suburban Shore"
Console "mono"
ellen allient & apparat "orchestra of bubbles"
lo-fi-fnk "boylife"
part timer "part timer"
peter bjorn and john "writer's block"
spank rock "yoyoyoyoyo"
the streets "a grand don't come for free" (yeah, this is totally not from this year. but on hardcore rotation.. still)
kudu "death of the party"

i went down on the last day. sunday.. and found, the longest line i think i may have ever seen.
so, i shot a video of me walking the line, from the end, to the door. i didn't change the speed of this footage, and tried to walk as fast as i could when i could. this is a serious line of people. to bad i didn't see the show. but no way was i waiting in that line.

desk papers

desktops, or "wallpapers" (as i think PC people call them) are important to me. lots of times i go places (to work) and just have to throw up a flar color cause they have a default OSX desktop up. ugly.. or people can just deal with more clutter then i can visually on the screen. or brightness. anyways, because i am so picky, i have slowly been actually working at making desktops for myself. and have been able to have these up for weeks with not problems.
please check them out yourself. they are designed for a wide screen display.. click up the thumbnails there to get the full size, and save the image to your desktop, and etc.
